Tyler's 1st Mock Draft

The 0-7 Start
Ok now I’m going to classify this season as a total loss. Carson Palmer is going to have to have Tommy-John surgery and that’s another year of his brilliant career wasted with the Bengals. I can now see why Chad Johnson would have wanted out so bad. So now that the season is metaphorically gone it is time to think about the future. First Marvin Lewis will be gone after this season. Actually the whole coaching staff should be fired.
Next when is the last time the Bengals picked up a big name free agent? This year’s free agent class is looking decent. (My source for this part of the article is from http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=RB&y=2009 so some of the information may be out of date)
Some Potential Free Agents Include:
RB Brandon Jacobs-This guy can just run over people. He is big enough to play running back, full back and even tight end in a few formations.
RB Ricky Williams-The Bengals already have a lot of players who have a troubled past so what’s one more right. He is a tough runner who still has some potential and is a lot better than what we have.
RFA WR Hank Baskett- I don’t know much about restricted free agents but I do know that a team has a chance to get the guy who is a RFA. He is tall and matter than Chris Henry so why not.
RFA WR Marques Colston- Again I don’t know what the terms of free agency are but this would be an awesome addition to the Cincinnati Bengals.
WR Dante Hall- He isn’t much of a receiver but I would like to see like a good returner on the Bengals for once in my lifetime
WR Terrell Owens- IF the Cowboys don’t resign him he might be somekind of a temporary one or two season booster.
WR Mike Williams- CP9 threw to him at USC and he has a better legal record than Chris Henry and is about the same height so sign him up.
DE Bertrand Berry- A good pass rusher and would be an upgrade form what we have.
DE Julius Peppers- There is no way that the Panthers let Julius go but if they do, he could be the upgrade that the Bengals are looking for. If signed he could be the best player on the Cincinnati team.
DT Tommie Harris- Another guy that his team will not let go of. Tommie Harris is probably the best Defensive Tackle in the NFL. I know everyone is going to argue with me on that subject but hey who do the Bengals have?
LB Angelo Crowell- A very good linebacker that plays every down and doesn’t quit on a play.
LB Ray Lewis- If they Bengals land him, he would be the leader and heart of the defense. Ray Lewis is and has been one of the best linebackers in the league.
LB Jonathan Vilma- Another good linebacker that is very good and something tells me that the Saints are going to resign him
THE NFL DRAFT
This may be one of the most important draft picks in the last 10 years or so. This draft has the potential to help Carson into the playoffs. There is not telling how much time Carson has left so lets get some help now.
TYLERS BIG BOARD
Tyler’s Best Prospects (in no order)
RB Chris Wells- has excellent speed for his size and can run people over, and I know he may be injury prone but so was Adrian Peterson and look how that turned out
LB James Laurinitis- very smart and talented linebacker that the Bengals could desperately use in their defense.
DE/OLB Brian Orakpo- has been a BEAST through this season and would probably be a BEAST on the Bengals
CB Malcolm Jenkins- probably the most athletic corner since Antonio Cromartie and is better than Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph
OT Michael Oher- has long been one of the better offensive linemen in college football for a few years
WR Michael Crabtree- maybe not as good as Calvin Johnson but probably the greatest receiver since
S Taylor Mays- this guy is a physical freak, at 6’4’’ 225 he looks like a linebacker but runs a 4.4 40!
RB Knowshon Moreno- a solid running back with good speed and can break some tackles
RB LeSean McCoy- he is my 1st round sleeper pick (that may not make sense but let me explain), he has very good speed and can break a lot of tackles and has all the potential to be one of the greatest players in this draft
DE Michael Johnson- this guy is a good pass rusher and a solid tackler
DE George Selvie- a little undersized but a very good pass rusher
LB Ray Manugluga- another USC linebacker that is really good, very smart and a good tackler
S Myron Roller- another good safety to lead the secondary
WR Jeremy Maclin- decent size, good speed and great hands will get him drafted 1st round
CB Alphonso Smith- only 5’9’’ but still led the nation in interceptions last year and plays his position well
DE Greg Middleton- good size and he can provide a good pass rush
RB Javon Ringer- doesn’t have the greatest size or speed but is a powerful and smart runner
RB C.J. Spiller- good size and speed and could be an upgrade from what we have
RB James Davis- powerful runner that also has some good speed
WR Derrick Williams- decent speed and very good hands
QB Hunter Cantwell- powerful arm and under the right coach could be a good quarterback
TE Travis Beckum- not much of a blocker put a very good pass catcher
C Antoine Caldwell- a solid blocker that is another upgrade for the Bengals
WR Brian Robiskie- decent speed, solid hands and good size
QB Cullen Harper- will, in time be a good QB
QB Curtis Painter- for some reason he forgot how to play quarterback but has a good arm and can be accurate
QB Dan LeFevour- the Bengals don’t have a decent backup so why not?
QB Chase Daniels- in the right system he could be a productive QB but lacks great arm strength
QB Rhett Bomar- another one of my sleeper picks, has the good arm and he is pretty accurate
WR Ramses Barden- one tall receiver who would be a good number 2 or three option
WR Jason Shipley- has good speed and very solid hands and is one of my personal favorite receivers because he is a hard worker
RB Kory Sheets- good speed running back that can probably break a few tackles but has some serious attitude problems
RB Ian Johnson- who could pass up the chance to have a leader like Ian Johnson on your team. He may be small but could be a solid backup
QB Willie Tuitama- could be a decent backup for the Bengals
RB P.J. Hill- powerful runner who has good size and decent speed
RB Maurice Wells- could be the lightning of the Bengals backfield
WR Vidal Hazelton- good size and speed but ahs trailed off a bit this season
WR Patrick Tuner- one of my favorite receivers in college football but anther guy
who is kind of under the radar
WR Greg Orton- solid hands, solid speed and at 6’3’’ very good size
WR Greg Carr- at 6’6’’ he could be a red zone threat and is taller than Chris Henry
Those are just the players I’m looking at right now but hey it’s a long season. Someone could step up and be the next great NFL players for the Bengals to draft
